Harris bipods are well designed, light and strong. They are by far the most popular models amongst both field and target shooters.
Features:
Quick simple attachment/detachment using the forend sling swivel stud or adaptor (YG5 for AR15 round
forend tubes; YG6 for UIT accessory rail.) The Bipod fitment is tightened using a screw with a handy
knurled thumb-wheel, tensioning it hard against the rifle to provide totally rigid support.
Length-adjustable telescopic legs. BR, L, 25 and 25C models can be set at any point within their adjustment range, locked by knurled finger-screws. BRM and LM models have notched legs and press catches with a number of equidistant height settings (6 for BRM, 7 for LM).
1A2 series models are fixed; S-series (swivelling) models have a hinged platform allowing the rifle to be tilted to compensate for uneven ground. (A knurled finger-nut is used to set the amount of friction in this movement or lock it in position.)
Legs fold up under the forend for transit in a gunslip or carrying in the field, snapping down quickly when required. They are held under tension in either position by coil springs. All models incorporate drilled extensions to mount standard QD sling swivels.
Choosing a Model:
The short 'BR' is used when a very low prone firing position is desired and/or for target shooting off a
bench. The intermediate 'L' models provide a standard height for prone field and target use; the '25'
suits those who prefer a high prone position and can also be used in the sitting position. The extra-long
25C is as per the 25 for taller individuals and is also useful for shooting over snow.
S-series models allow greater positional flexibility and shooter comfort. They are better for extreme precision work as in long-range target and vermin shooting, at the cost of some extra weight. They provide as rigid support to the rifle as 1A2 models.
